As I tried jotting notes down while watching eps I realized that, indeed, I do not watch for the plot. Yes, I'm shallow XD
4.01
IMDB summary: As the city is on high alert, the team begins to believe that they have made a mistake with the profile and that everything the terrorists have done so far may in fact just have been diversion for something even bigger.
* Petite blonde JJ driving a huge black SUV is something of a visual kink for me.
* Garcia having a minor panic attack upon losing contact with her team, but still keeping working = awesome. Garcia calling Derek before calling anybody else = awesome.
* I love how they say "my team" the way people say "my family".
* Morgan insta-profiling the cop as the former Marine and manipulating him into letting him in = awesome
* Hotch losing it as soon as he gets the agent off his hands = awesome
* Garcia & Morgan talking as he's searching for a terrorist with his gun out = awesome
* Now, that requires capslock: DEREK/GARCIA!!!!!!!!!
* 'My life matters to me, and I have & always will trust you with it' = awesome

IMDB summary: On the anniversary of a serial killer's execution, a murder spree which appears to be connected to him begins and the team must try and understand his mind in order to stop it.
* The cases where the killer breaks into houses freak me out. I skipped the first minutes of the ep, checked all the locks on the doors and was too scared to go out for a smoke (at least that was good).
* "evil twin and eviller twin"! OMG, Reid is such a dork!
* Dead guy's DNA, dissapearing bodies, the whole religious imagery = CREEPY
* That's one pretty prison & one cool town name :)
* I can't help noticing how careful they are when filming JJ so as not to show her belly
* I need an icon with Rossi hugging shell-shocked Hotch
4.04
IMDB summary: A serial killer targeting couples stages their bodies in a way to make their deaths look like car accidents.
* JJ making the baby listen Beethoven was a cute realistic quirk.
* The premise is WAY CREEPY.
* Liked the dramatic ironic (or is it poetic justice?) of the ending.
4.05
IMDB summary: A man is jumping trains along Highway 99, brutally killing couples in their homes whenever he stops.
That was one xenophobic ep. While there were some nice touches (the way killer's POV was shot - the sheer surreality & phisicality of existence; Reid knowing all about pregnancy but still being freaked out by the baby kicking; chase on a train), I was sorta squicked.
4.06-07
IMDB summary for 4.06: A child abduction case in Las Vegas causes Reid to have strange nightmares which appear to be connected to an event in his past.
IMDB summary for 4.07: Driven by his nightmares, Reid stays behind in Las Vegas to find his father in order to find out the truth about Riley Jenkins' murder.
I don't find Reid interesting as a character. He looks like a canonical Mary Sue to me: lots of unusual skills, no realistic fallacies. Some say he's bad at people, but that's stated rather than shown (hell, I'm worse at people than he is, and I don't even have eidetic memory to show for it :( ). The whole sequence with his childhood trauma & presumed schizophrenia look like plot points straight out of the gothic novel. So, not too fond of this story arc, no.
The details I did like:
* Morgan & Rossi hanging out in Reid's room watching Days of Our Lives :)
* Reid winning at casinos XD
* Rossi being protective of Reid during hypnosis seanse
* Garcia hauling JJ off to the hospital = awesome. JJ keeping working till the very last minute = still more awesome.
* Reid's mother is actually is pretty cool. Going off her meds for her kid must take some balls.
For a change, here we had a positive portrayal of a small town mentality, what with people uniting & taking justice into their own hands. Consistency, show?
